I showed this card some time ago and have already given it to a friend, but I was asked in the comments, if I could show how to make the card base for that. It’s pretty easy, but looks so great! So I made a fix sketch for how the card base works.

Das ist das Schema:

Here is the sketch:

  1. Ein Rechteck von 24x14cm zurechtschneiden.
  4. Das war es schon für die Kartenbasis.

  1. Cut a rectangle for your base with the measurements of 24×14 cm or alternative sizes for inch: 9×5 1/2 inch. (The inch card is going to be just a little bit smaller, but works the same way.)
  2. Score the card base at 8 and 16 cm or 3 and 6 inch. Please do not mix up the measurements for cm and inch! The card base has to have 3 equal sections. Fold the outer sections towards the middle section.
  3. Score the outer sections on a diagonal from corner to corner. Try to be as precise as possible. You can see the score lines as the broken lines in the sketch. Fold the outer triangles away from the middle section.
  4. That’s it for the card base.

If you want to measure your pattern paper precisely, cut rectangles just a little bit smaller than 8x14cm or 3×5 1/2 inches and cut them diagonaly in the direction of your folding lines. You will have triangles, that fit your card perfectly. You can use any label or motive die to decorate your card further. It also helps to keep the card closed. Just be careful to not glue the card shut. 😉 It almost happened to me.

If there are any questions left, please feel free to ask! 🙂

Liebe Grüße und frohes Gestalten! / Take care and have fun creating!
