Today is a day of lilac colors and it has a reason. For some time now I tried to join the Color Throwdown Challenge regularly and try to make something using the colors. It doesn’t work every week, but sometimes the outcome is pretty nice. My first try for today didn’t work out as expected. The colors for this week are purple, black and white. In the first cards, that I made to be some more of our wedding invitations, the black was missing. The cards were too dark already and I didn’t want to add more dark colors because of the wedding theme. Here you can see them:

I used the same flower stamp for all of the cards today. It’s from Penny Black and called “Awaken” (Here is the link to the shop I bought it from and here the Penny Black shop.) I ordered it last week simply because it was in stock again. For months now I looked for it everywhere in the European shops and couldn’t get it anywhere. I even tried to order it a few times and everything but this stamp was delivered, it was very frustrating. Now I have it and enjoyed it very much. The lines are fery fine and the stamp looks great. I stamped it onto vellum for the upper cards and used a white pencil to shade the flowers a little bit. In those cards you can also see the difference between Super Fine Embossing Powder (white) and the regular one (gold), that I used. (I only have the white one in super fine.) For the background I used a stencil over purple cardstock and white ink from LawnFawn with a blender. You have to let it dry, otherwise it would smear. The sentiment is from a wedding set by danipeuss. I still have the feeling, that those cards are missing something.

This card was the one, where I left the wedding theme and added black. The flowers were stamped in black on watercolor paper and used watercolors to color them in. The sentiment is from a set from Karten-Kunst, a german shop with many german stamp sets and nice fonts. I like them very much. If also someone is looking fot german sentiments, you can take a look at their shop. (Funny to write that in english. 😀 Is someone from a foreign country looking for german sentiments?)

What do you think about those cards? Do you think, the recipients will be happy to get those? And what do you think about white embossing on vellum?

Habt einen schönen Tag!/ Have a nice day!
