Bereits letzten Monat habe ich mir ein paar Blöcke mit Motivpapier gekauft und habe diesen einen auserkoren für das Projekt “Wieviele Karten schaffe ich es aus einem Block zu machen?” Der Block hieß “Merry Merry” von Pebbles (Link zu danipeuss, wo ich das Pad gekauft habe. Kein affiliate Link.) und war 6×6″ groß, es gibt dazu zwar noch zusätzliche Sticker und anderes zu kaufen, aber ich verzichtete darauf. Auch wollte ich die Utensilien so minimalistisch, wie möglich, halten. Zur Verfügung hatte ich nur einen Hebelschneider für Papier (alternativ geht es mit einem Cuttermesser, einer schnittfesten Unterlage und einem Lineal), eine Schere, Kleber und ein paar Sternenförmige Pailletten. Dazu nahm ich dunkelroten Fotokarton für die Mattungen sowie als Basis bei den Restekarten und weißen Fotokarton (Link zu Amazon, kein affiliate Link) als Kartenbasis. (Den weißen mußte ich mir nun sogar noch nachkaufen!) Auf die 30 Karten gerechnet, war dies also ziemlich günstig. Zusammen verbrachte ich zwei Abende mit den Karten und es blieben ein paar kleine Vierecke übrig, wie man auf dem Photo unten sehen kann.
I have bought some patterned paper pads some months ago, knowing that I want to make Christmas cards using them. For this pad I decided to answer myself the question, how many cards I could make using only papers from this pad – it’s “Merry Merry” by Pebbles (Link to danipeuss, a german shop, I’m not affiliated with the shop). The pad is 6×6″ and there are stickers and other embellishments in this collection, but I didn’t use anything of that. I also tried to use as few tools as possible, knowing, that not everyone has them. What I used were: paper cutter (but it’s easily replaceable by a cutter, a matte and a ruler), scissors, glue and some star shaped sequences. I also had some dark red paper to matte the little images and some white cardstock (Link to Amazon, not affiliated) for the cardbases. (I actually had to buy more of the white cardstock to finish them!) For 30 cards all together the price for the materials was pretty cheap, but I spent two evenings assembling this cards. What was left, were just a view inchies, as you can see below.
Falls jemand also nicht gerade Unmengen an Werkzeug und Materialien besitzt (was ich gut nachvollziehen kann) und dennoch schöne Karten für Weihnachten basteln möchte, ist ein Block eine gute Möglichkeit. Das Kartenbasteln kann nämlich schnell zu einem teuren Hobby werden und natürlich will man am Liebsten gleich alle Werkzeuge haben, aber damit zu beginnen, sich gleich alles zu kaufen, ist unsinnig. Ich selbst beschäftige mich seit Jahren damit, ich verschicke ständig Karten und liebe es, alles selbst zu machen. Die Utensilien und Werkzeuge, die ich habe, sammelten sich im Laufe von etwas über drei Jahren an und es ist eine inzwischen stolze Sammlung geworden. Dennoch genieße ich es sehr, sie manchmal alle stehen lassen zu können und mit Motivpapier schöne Karten zu gestalten.
If someone wants to make some beautiful Chrismas cards, without having lots and lots of materials and tools (that I can totally relate to), a paper pad is a good way to start. Cardmaking can be very overwhelming in the beginning, there are hundreds of tools, stamps, dies and everything else and this can be expensive. When starting with a hobby, it’s not necessary to buy everything right in the beginning. I myself started making cards years ago and painting was a hobby through my whole life, I also love to send out cards and make them myself. All the stuff and tools, that I have now and it’s a lot, were collected over the last three years. But I still enjoy card making sessions without all the tools, but with beautiful pattern papers.
Natürlich muß niemand diesen Block nehmen, es gibt noch ganz viele mit sehr schönen Motiven – einer liegt sogar noch hier bei mir und ich freue mich auf die Verarbeitung. Hoffentlich freut ihr euch auch darauf!
You don’t have to use this pad for your cards, there are many many more with beautiful patterns – I even have one more here (it was the same order) and I’m already exited to start using it for more cards! I hope, you enjoyed this post and are exited for the other cards as well!
