Today I just felt somehow eager to make some postcards. Not the usual greeting cards, but something small, that will be ready to be sent away immediately.  I have to admit, that I’m sending a lot of cards throughout the week to anyone I like.  I also wanted to try out a new technique. Everything is fast and simple – if you have a heating tool. Otherwise you will have to wait for the paint to dry in between.

I already posted that I love goldfishes and have bought a set by Hero Arts. Last week I found another goldfish stamp made by Carabelle Studio and bought it here, since it was the only shop I could find this stamp to buy. I just felt, that I desperately needed this stampset. (Yes, I’m a little crazy about that.)

I used both goldfish sets to make two postcards. The first one was the one where I used the Hero Arts set. I stamped all layers of the goldfishes where I wanted them to be and embossed them with clear embossing powder. After I used some masking fluid to cover the fishes up. I didn’t make a very good job on the upper fish – but that was totally my fault. You will have to let the marking fluid dry completely! The second card is made with the Carabelle Studio stamps. I stamped all three fishes (in the set it’s actually one stamp with three fishes, that I cut apart) with black ink and embossed it aswell. After I used watercolor pencils to color the fishes and let them dry completely. On them I used the masking fluid also.

After the masking fluid had dried completely I took a plastic sheet and sprayed it with a little water and mixed some blue watercolors in it. Then I smudged the sheet onto the paper and created the background with 3-4 layers of different blue tones and intensities of color. I dried the paper in between every step and sprinkled it with some drops of color at the end. After everything hat dried completely, I removed the masking fluid . I just love the effect of this golden fishes in the deep blue. Surely there are more of this card to come.

Bei Fragen helfe ich gerne weiter. Mit lieben Grüßen,

Please feel free to ask, if you have any questions. Yours,

MA.
