Das war die zweite Idee, die ich für die Art Challenge hatte. Für die Challenge hatte ich mich für das andere Motiv entschieden und es sieht an der Wand wirklich nett aus, aber dies hier fand ich perfekt für eine Postkarte. Daher habe ich direkt auf ein Aquarellpapier in Postkartengröße von AMI gemalt und zwar zunächst mit einem Tombow brush pen, die sind nämlich nach dem Trocknen wasserfest und verlaufen nicht, wenn man mit der Farbe drübergeht. Nachdem das Motiv bunt war, habe ich mit dem gleichen Stift auch geschrieben. Es ist ein schönes Schwarz und wenn man den mit weicher Spitze wählt, könnte man sogar kalligraphieren. Das ist aber leider keines meiner Talente. Als Aquarellfarben nutzte ich die Kuretake Gansai Tambi, die sehr schön pigmentiert sind. Wie Ihr vielleicht gemerkt habt, nutze ich sie vergleichsweise oft – das liegt daran, daß sie mir wirklich viel Spaß machen. Einen kleinen Nachteil sehe ich persönlich in der Größe der Palette, die findet bei mir auf dem (überfüllten) Tisch leider wenig Platz. Außerdem kann man die Farben darin schön mischen, ohne daß sie gleich wie Matsch aussehen. Das Hintergrundschwarz z.B. ist aus Blau und Braun gemischt worden, weil mir die Farbe etwas lebendiger erscheint. Zum Versiegeln nutze ich Distress Glaze, dann ist die Postkarte auch in der Post wasserdicht. Ansonsten ist es wie immer nur etwas Gekritzel, das Euch aber hoffentlich den Tag etwas erhellt!
The second idea, that I had for the art challenge, was this one. I chose the other motive for the challenge (it looks really great on the wall), but still wanted to realize this idea for a postcard. I used some postcard size watercolor paper from AMI to paint this directly as a postcard. First I used a Tombow brush pen to outline the images, it’s waterproof after drying and comes with a soft and hard tip. So it could be used for brushlettering or calligraphy aswell. Sadly, it’s none of my talents. It’s also good to go over the painted areas, I used it to write after painting and some of the details. For watercoloring I used the Kuretake Gansai Tambi, that are well pigmented. I use them quite a lot. I also like it, that I can mix the colors without having them getting muddy fast. The background grey was mixed using brown and blue, because I felt that it is more vivid. To seal the painting, I used some Distress Glaze. I feel that it’s important, if you want to send selfpainted postcards, so that they don’t smudge or smear when there is just a little water on them. But other than that, it’s all just scribbles, that hopefully lightens your day a little bit!
