The fun thing about this card is, that it’s not only fanart, but also a wedding invitation. If you don’t know the Simpsons, you may not understand the image. There is one scene, where the smart daughter of this family Lisa is at a fair with her family. She separates from them and finds a tent where a woman shows her her future. It’s her british boyfriend whom she wants to marry. The day before their wedding Homer, her father, gives her fiancé these cuff lings to wear on their wedding day. He doesn’t want to do that and leaves the cuff lings in their room. Lisa finds them and asks him to wear those, when he refuses, she tells him, that it’s a family tradition and she doesn’t want him to come before her family. So they break up the day of their wedding. If we had those cuff lings, we would wear them – or better: my fiancé.  You can wath the scene here on YouTube. The idea to make this invitations came to me in my sleep, so I started to realize it in early in the morning directly after waking up. I used Winsor&Newton watercolors for that and tried handlettering for the first time. It’s not perfect, but ok. I’ll have to practice some more for that.

Was haltet Ihr davon? Ist es zu viel des Guten?

What do you think about invitations like that? Is this too much?

Habt einen inspirierenden Tag!/ Have an inspiring day!
