This is the illustration of my beloved one, he painted a little bit out of the frame, but I like this style and the looks of it. He chose fall colors for the farm and used our Prismacolor Colored Pencils for that. He practices to mix colors and shade using them. I think he made it quite well.

When I heard last weeks theme, I immediately thought of chickens. Chickens are great animals and are often found on farms. To be honest, I’m walking the dog close to a small chicken farm run by one lady. Dante loves to watch the chicken through the wire fence. They are allowed to walk free and have a lot of room for them. When I was little, my parents were very curious about the world and a little adventurous. There was this one time when my father built a box for brooding and wanted to try it out. They got fertilized eggs from a farm nearby and we had this box standing in our living room for weeks. It even had a little window for us to peek through! (I was probably 6 or 7 back then.) We had to turn the eggs from time to time and then, weeks later, there were around 20 little yellow chickens that came out. That was great. They became fluffy and were so unbelievably cute! They lived on our balcony, that was closed and heated, and I loved to feed them. When the chickens became a little bigger they were moved to our Dacha.  (We used the Dacha to grow vegetables mainly, there was a little house build on the ground, but it wasn’t finished back then.) My father built a stall for them, where they always could get out into a fenced area. The chickens didn’t live there for a long time though. Someone thought it would be fun to break in into the stall and steal some of them, the others were killed by wild animals. I was so sad back then, because I loved our little balcony chickens. Especially the one rooster, who always came to me to cuddle. To paint this chickens today I used some watercolors by Winsor&Newton.

The theme for next weeks challenge is: Fall/ Autumn

Ich wünsche Euch und Euren Haustieren eine schöne Zeit! / I hope you and your pets have a great time!
