When I want to wrap gifts fitting to the season, I like to collect materials out in the nature and combine them somehow. Something I really love to collect are acorn caps, which I use to knit some acorns into. I showed one of those on Instagram some time ago. The combination of knit and wood looks very beautiful to me. And that’s exactly what I did today. The paper I used was simple packaging paper, I used some red paper cord to wrap it and some jute twine to wrap three times in both directions. I sealed the know with wax and used a seal, if I had one saying “For You”, I probably would have used that. But, I can’t own everything, right? I tucked and glued in some of my knitted acorns around the seal and glued a squirrel (a word impossible to pronounce for Germans) for some cuteness. The squirrel comes from a stamp set by Lawn Fawn (Into the Woods). The present would also have been fine without the squirrel, but I just needed it. I also hope, that it is intended to be a squirrel, it could have been a skunk aswell. But it’s cute and I liked it very much!

(Lang, lang ist’s her…)

I also have used this kind of acorns once for a christmas present, but used colorful yarn to knit the acorns. It also looked very nice, you can see it here. (It’s indeed long ago…) You also don’t need much yarn for those, I used some left over sock yarn to knit many many of these. It’s just a little tiny to knit many and can take a long time, so I use them for special gifts only.

And because it’s now been so long, here you have a photo of Dante. 🙂

How do you wrap your autumnal gifts, do you even go by the seasonal theme? Do you like to do it yourself or let it be done in the shops? Yesterday I had a wonderful conversation with Steffi (Hello!), who wrote, that she also loves to wrap her gifts herself creatively.

As always: if you have questions to any details or way of making anything of what I have shown, I’ll be happy to write it down for you, you just need to let me know.

Liebe Grüße und einen wundervollen Tag!/ Greetings and have a wonderful day!
