Hallo ihr wundervollen Menschen! / Hello you wonderful people!

IMG_20180315_201917.jpgI have written, that I am currently knitting baby jackets again, so today I wanted to show you, what I’ve made.  It was some weeks ago, that I’ve found the pattern for this lovely baby jacket and went immediately out to buy the yarn to knit it. I was in the mood for natural colors and a rustic look, that I’ve never used before in my knitted baby objects. The stripes the yarn makes are pretty soft and the colors change in a range of brown tones. It reminds me so much of nature and forests – where I found the first catkins just today during our walk with Dante! (Photo above) I hope so much, that it’s not going to be too warm for this jacket, when the little girl finally receives it. It would be nice, if the baby would have chance to wear and enjoy it. To enhance the rustic feel of this jacket, I used natural coconut buttons to close it. They are natural and, as I was told, don’t break when washed in a washing machine (I did not prove that). This is indeed something very important to me, that the baby clothes are practical as well as beautiful. A mother or father has surely not the time to take care of a special washing, drying and maybe more procedures for the knitted clothes. As I myself have bought more buttons than I need for this piece, I want to use some of them on one of my (bought) jackets, as the buttons on it are very ugly. When buying the yarn, I always make sure, that it’s machine washable, when I knit for others.

I’m going to use the same pattern again to knit another little rustic baby jacket, as there are more babies on their ways. If someone wants to join me in the knits, you can find the pattern here. You have to sign in to the site, but the pattern itself is free. The rest of the yarn I will use to knit some socks and a little hat to complete the set.

Habt einen wundervollen Tag!/ Have a wonderful day!
