This time I have used some of the supplies, I had laying around for quite a long time. Pencils aren’t my favourite medium, but I like to use them from time to time. Watercolor pencils are even less used by me – I’ve had these for years now and didn’t really use them. But there’s something I’m fascinated with and this is colored pencils on dark or tanned paper, so I wanted to try out watercolor pencils on this surface. It worked! But the tanned paper by Canson is much thinner than the watercolor paper, I was used to, and warped pretty easily (you can see the warping in the scan). I’m still very satisfied with the end result and those cute little bats. For the highlights I used white ink, so the fur gets extra fluffy and the eyes shiny. All in all it was a lot of fun to use the watercolor pencils like that and I will surely make some more illustrations using watercolor pencils on tanned paper. You should also take a look at supplies, you haven’t used for a long time and try them out!

Habt einen kreativen Tag!/ Have a creative day!
