The Artist

Picture of Lana

Hi, I am Lana.

I still remember my first attempts at watercoloring. My mother used to paint and I, still in kindergarten, was allowed to use some of her paints. Her palette was artist quality and I didn’t like them at all. After I was using paints that fit my age and those actually worked better for me at that time.

Today I know, why I didn’t like professional paints back then and with my knowledge I can put together a palette that works for me and fits my artistic needs. This knowledge and more I share with everyone who is eager to learn about watercolors.

Since my early years creativity was a huge part of my life. The time I didn’t paint, I used to draw, write, craft and create. It’s the process I enjoy most.

After a break from art during my time in university, where I studied history, philosophy and psychology and got my Master of Arts degree, I started painting again. It is my goal to combine my passions for science and art. It results in dmy attempt to teach and share my knowledge as well as my love for nature which meet in my work and the tutorials I share on my Blog.

You can see some of my current works in the Gallery.

Image in Progress

In 2018 my partner and I have created a watercolor database Sun&Colors from my paint collection. Since then it has grown a lot. It’s a place to share swatches, paint properties, pigment information and lightfastness tests.
