Als ich im Studentenwohnheim wohnte, hatte ich eine wahnsinnig tolle WG. Es wurde gefeiert, alle waren füreinander da und man machte WG Essen. Das war nicht in jeder Wg selbstverständlich, wurden die Mitbewohner doch zufällig zugeordnet. Die kahlen Neonröhrenleuchten hatte ich mal in einer nächtlichen Aktion mit Dutzenden bunter Papierkraniche dekoriert, die von den Leuchten herunterhingen. Alle Jahre wurden sie auch erneuert, damit sich nicht zu viel Staub darauf absetzte. Kein Wunder also, daß ich gerade das Stempelset mit Origamitieren von Hero Arts für Karten meiner ehemaligen Mitbewohner gerne nutze, die ich auch mal ohne Grund verschicke. Der Textstempel kommt von Karten-Kunst. Davon habe ich einige Sets, die ich wegen der klaren Schrift gerne mag. Sonst habe ich wie oft in letzter Zeit mit Aquarellfarben herumgepanscht, die Kraniche mit Glossy Accents bedeckt und etwas passendes Motivpapier als Hintergrund gewählt. Es ist einfach, hat aber eine kleine Geschichte.
I used to live in a dorm when I studied at the university, the flatmates I had were great! We had fun together, had parties and dinners together and were there for each other. That wasn’t the case in every flat in the dorm because you were given your room and the flat coincidentally. You couldn’t choose with who you wanted to live, or you had to get yourself a flat together. Well, I had luck! A lot of luck! The light in the living area was provided by neontubes at the ceiling and they looked ugly. So I decided to decorate them with dozens of origami cranes in different colors that I hung on twine from the ceiling around the lights. I had also to change them every year or so, because of the dust they were collecting. Because of this background story it’s no wonder really, that I loved and needed the stamp set by Hero Arts that has many of different origami style animals. I love to use it for cards for my former flatmates, that I like to send to them without any reason. The german sentiment comes from a german company named Karten-Kunst. It says “just because” on this card. I used watercolors, that I smushed onto the watercolor paper and filled the cranes in afterwards. I also covered the cranes in glossy accents after the watercolor dried completely. I used some patterned paper in matching colors for the background. It’s easy, but has a little story to it.
