Testzeichnung Spatz

Wundervollen guten Tag meine Freunde,

Hello and a wonderful day to you my friends,

my passion for graphite knows no end right now and as you can see in the Instagram Feed, I was also sharing some of my walks wit Dante and I just enjoy the time I have with him. The impressions and ideas I get from this time I want to capture and right now I like to use pencils to do that. Graphite pencils are a simple medium to use and it’s crazy how much you get out of it.

Out of pure curiosity I did order a set of the Faber Castell Pitt Graphite Matte pencils (Affiliate Links Amazon | Jackson’s), which I tested in the following video.

Detail der Zeichnung

About the results I can only say, that they are indeed more matte than Staedler Mas Lumograph (Affiliate Link) which I used to compare them to and same goes for the Faber Castell Castell (Affiliate Link) pencils. They feel just as hard as the other Faber Castell on paper in comparable hardness but feel a bit harder than the Staedler ones in the same hardness. It’s not bad though, just a difference I noticed. When it comes to erasability, then the Pitt are a bit more difficult to erase than the other ones and will leave a mark even in the harder pencils. This lead me to believe, that there is a bit of charcoal used in the lead to create the matte effect and blackness but also reduce the ability to erase slightly.

Radierbarkeit der Pitt Graphite Matt

Overall I was happy with the set and had no issues working and drawing with them. My favourites will remain the Staedler Mars Lumograph because of their smooth feeling on paper, but the Pitt Graphite Matte are a good addition to my pencil collection.

Have fun!
